80% of the balance

Sell your Marshalls gift card for cash

Sell your Marshalls gift card for 80% of the balance. $10 to $2,000 per card, with payment initiated within 24 hours.

Marshalls cards work across the TJX family — Marshalls, TJ Maxx, HomeGoods, HomeSense and Sierra all accept them. If you are holding one and thought it was useless because there is no Marshalls near you, check whether one of the sibling stores is closer before you sell. That alone converts a fair number of dead cards back into useful ones.

Beyond that, the reason Marshalls credit goes unspent is structural to off-price retail. The stock changes constantly and is never guaranteed, so you cannot decide in advance what a card will buy. You have to turn up and hope. Anyone who does not already enjoy that as a way of shopping will find the card stays in their wallet.

These cards also arrive as gifts far more often than they are self-purchased, and frequently in small denominations as tokens or prizes. Small, given, and spendable only on whatever is on the rack that week — that is a reliable recipe for a forgotten balance.

We pay 80% of the verified balance, with no tiering, on cards from $10 up to $2,000. A part-spent card with $41.30 on it pays $33.04; the per-dollar rate is the same as on a full card.

Like all TJX cards, Marshalls credit has no expiry and no fees and is accepted across the group's banners. If your Marshalls closed — and a number have been consolidated over the years — the card is not dead; it will work at the nearest TJ Maxx or HomeGoods without any transfer or reissue.

Where selling makes sense is when the whole format does not suit you. Off-price stock is unpredictable by design, so you cannot go in with a list. If you need specific things at specific times, credit that only pays out when the right item happens to be on the rack is credit that will keep waiting, and converting it is the practical answer.

Balances are checked through the TJX balance page using the card number and the card security code. As with TJ Maxx, a card without a CSC cannot be verified online at all and has to be read at a register — if that is what you have, get the figure in store before submitting.

We confirm the balance before paying. If it comes back lower than entered, the offer is recalculated and shown to you before anything is sent, and declining costs nothing.

How to check your Marshalls balance

Check it on Marshalls's own site before you sell. You will need the full card number and the PIN — usually under a scratch-off strip on the back, or in the confirmation email for a digital card. Enter the balance here exactly as it reads.

Selling a Marshalls gift card: common questions

80% of the balance we verify with Marshalls. A $100.00 card pays $80.00 and a $250.00 card pays $200.00. The rate is flat — it does not improve with larger balances and it does not drop for smaller ones.

$10.00. Below that the payment processing costs more than the trade is worth to either of us. The most we take on a single Marshalls card is $2,000.00; if yours is larger, submit it as two cards.

PayPal and Cash App payments are initiated within 24 hours of you submitting the card, and often the same afternoon. A paper check takes 5 to 7 business days because it goes through the mail. The only thing standing between you and the money is the balance check.

We recalculate at the same 80% rate and show you the corrected offer before any money moves. If the new number does not work for you, say no and keep the card. People misremember balances constantly and it is not held against you.

Yes, and most of what we buy is partially used. A Marshalls card with $37.18 left is worth the same per dollar as a full one. Enter the exact remaining balance, down to the cents, as long as it is at least $10.00.
