How and when you get paid

Three ways out, no fees on any of them, and the number you accept is the number that arrives. Nothing is deducted for processing, and there is no commission taken off the top. What follows is when each method actually pays, rather than when it theoretically could.

PayPal

Initiated within 24 hours

The fastest and most common option. We send to the email address on your PayPal account, so it is worth double-checking that you have typed the one you actually use — a payment sent to an unclaimed address sits in limbo until it is collected. Most PayPal payments go out the same afternoon the balance is confirmed.

What we need: The email address on your PayPal account.

Cash App

Initiated within 24 hours

Same timing as PayPal. We send to your $Cashtag, which is worth checking character by character — Cashtags are easy to mistype and the payment will simply fail rather than reaching someone else. If it bounces we will contact you rather than sitting on the money.

What we need: Your $Cashtag.

Paper check

5–7 business days

Slower, because it goes through the post. We print and mail within one business day of approving the payment; the rest is delivery time. Choose this if you would rather not use a payment app, and expect the estimated arrival date shown at checkout to be a realistic range rather than a promise about the mail.

What we need: The name the check should be made out to, plus a full mailing address.

Why there is no bank transfer

There is no bank transfer or ACH option. That is a deliberate choice, not something we have not got round to. ACH payments can be reversed weeks after they settle, and carrying that risk on every card would mean either a worse rate for everyone or slower payouts while we waited out the reversal window. PayPal and Cash App settle cleanly and quickly, so that is what we use.
