Sell your Starbucks gift card for cash
Sell an unused Starbucks card for 80% of the balance. $10 to $500 per card, paid by PayPal or Cash App within 24 hours.
Starbucks cards are the highest-volume small gift card in the country and they go unspent in a very specific way. They are the standard token gift — teachers, coworkers, thank-yous, secret santa — which means most people who hold one received it rather than bought it. And because the amounts are small, there is never any urgency about them.
The Starbucks system also creates a particular kind of stranded balance. Cards can be registered to a Starbucks Rewards account and reloaded, so heavy customers absorb their cards immediately and stop thinking about them. Anyone who is not a regular ends up with a physical card carrying $10 or $15 that they will use on the two occasions a year they happen to be in a Starbucks, leaving an awkward remainder each time.
There is a real argument for just spending a small Starbucks balance, and if you go there at all, do that. Selling makes sense when you do not drink coffee, you have accumulated several cards, or the nearest location is not somewhere you pass. Multiple small cards can be submitted together and paid in one payment, which is usually what people with a drawer full of them want.
We pay 80% of the verified balance. The per-card ceiling for Starbucks is $500 rather than $2,000, which reflects how these cards are actually issued — they are rarely loaded heavily, and low ceilings keep verification quick. The minimum is $10.
Starbucks cards can be registered to a Starbucks Rewards account, and once registered the balance is protected if the physical card is lost and can be reloaded. Registration also means the balance shows in the app, which is the quickest way to read it. Registering a card does not stop you selling it, but it does mean the card number is tied to an account, so unregistered cards are the cleanest ones to pass on.
For a single $10 card, spending it is almost always easier than selling it. Where selling earns its keep is volume: a teacher, a nurse or a manager who has collected eight or ten cards over a couple of years is holding real money in a form they will never get through. Submit them together, get one payment, and stop carrying a stack of plastic that each buys most of a coffee.
Check the balance at the Starbucks card page using the card number and the security code from the back. If the card is already registered to a Rewards account, the balance is visible in the app under card management, which is the fastest way to read it.
Submit the exact figure and we verify before paying. If the confirmed balance is lower, you see the corrected offer at the same 80% rate and choose whether to go ahead. Nothing is charged if you decline, and the card stays yours.
Nothing is final until you submit. You can still back out at review.

How to check your Starbucks balance
Check it on Starbucks's own site before you sell. You will need the full card number and the PIN — usually under a scratch-off strip on the back, or in the confirmation email for a digital card. Enter the balance here exactly as it reads.
