We’re not buying Mastercard prepaid gift cards
We are not buying Mastercard prepaid cards at the moment, and it is worth being straight about why rather than leaving you guessing.
The reason
Open-loop bank card. It spends like cash anywhere, which makes it far too easy to drain before we can verify it.
None of this means the card is a bad card. It means we cannot price it honestly and pay you quickly at the same time, and we would rather decline than quote you a number we might have to revise downwards after you have committed.
If you are holding one and want the value, the most reliable route is to spend it yourself, or to give it to somebody who will. If you would rather sell a different card, the brands below all pay up to 80% of the balance within 24 hours.
