Sell your Best Buy gift card for cash
We buy Best Buy gift cards at 80% of the balance — $10 to $2,000 per card, paid within 24 hours with no fees.
Best Buy cards have a particular failure mode: the balance is almost always the wrong size for what Best Buy sells. Electronics come in big-ticket increments. A $100 card does not buy a television, and once you have bought the television, the $37 left on the card does not buy anything you actually want. It buys a cable you do not need.
That mismatch is why these cards linger. There is no natural small purchase to absorb a remainder, so the card waits for a next big purchase that may be years away — and by then the technology has moved and the plan has changed.
Best Buy cards are also a standard corporate and rebate reward, which puts them in the hands of people who did not ask for them. If you are not in the market for a device, a Best Buy balance is close to inert. It is worth its face value only to someone who was about to shop there anyway.
We pay 80% of the verified balance, flat, on cards from $10 up to $2,000. A $250 card is $200. Partially used cards are fine — a card with $42.67 left is worth exactly the same per dollar as a fresh one, as long as it clears the $10 minimum.
Best Buy cards can be used in store, on bestbuy.com, and towards Geek Squad services, which is the least-known route and often the most useful one for a stranded balance — a repair, an installation or a support plan absorbs credit without requiring you to want a new device. The cards do not expire and carry no fees.
If a purchase is genuinely coming — a laptop for school, a replacement for something failing — the card is worth more spent than sold. Sell when the balance is an orphan: the big purchase already happened, the remainder is too small to matter, or the card came from a rebate on a product you bought years ago and you have no electronics needs at all.
You can check the balance at bestbuy.com/gift-card-balance with the card number and PIN. This is one of the balance pages that has been stable and works cleanly, so it is worth doing before you submit rather than guessing. Enter the figure exactly as it reads.
After you submit, we verify with Best Buy before paying. A lower confirmed balance means a recalculated offer at the same 80% rate, shown to you before anything is sent. Payment goes out by PayPal or Cash App within 24 hours, or a paper check in 5 to 7 business days.
Nothing is final until you submit. You can still back out at review.
